Dr. Yaros' surgical skills.
TRAINING
His commitment to helping
people see better began when he was just 16 years old. He spent his summer
working as a lab technician in the Ophthalmology Department of the University of
Pennsylvania. He was so fascinated by the work done there that he decided on a
career in Ophthalmology. He went on to attend and graduate from The University
of Pennsylvania; later receiving his medical degree from Temple University
Medical School.
Dr. Yaros excelled in his Ophthalmology residency at the
renowned Yale-New Haven Hospital. As part of his residency he ran the Eye
Service at the Princess Margaret Hospital in the Bahamas, providing most of the
eye care for the entire country.
He then served a private
fellowship/preceptorship with one of America's foremost Cataract Surgeons,
honing his surgical skills before entering into private practice. In the next
year Dr. Yaros became Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of
Ophthalmology. This is the only recognized Board Certification in
Ophthalmology.
He was then elected a fellow of the American Academy of
